Description

1:87 SDV model so it's pretty small :D
The kit quality was a bit shit but I still managed to make something out of it. The tracks have no detail, there's an incredible amount of leftover plastic around parts (the stuff one needs to cut off), many parts had to be modified so they could even be fitted like in real life, the instructions were probably made by someone who just started to draw - I had to find photos to figure out where some parts were supposed to be (and there aren't many photos of this T-54 version so it was hard).

This is a photo from a website of the manufacturer: www.sdvmodel.cz/components/com… notice the additional armour on the turret being completely messed up, machine gun in the wrong place, no light on the commander's cupola and possibly an antenna turned almost 90°, although this may have been an attempt to make it look folded (I've found a photo of that).. They haven't really put much work into this kit - going right from building Zvezda to this feels like going from a mildly expensive restaurant to military rations.

Also, first time washing :D combined with the mud effects from the Tiger. I'm quite happy how it turned out.

Washes seem to make everything better.  I have no experience with powder or other hobby style supplies and have been using pastel type washes.  Good to know about Zvezda!  I have a few kits bookmarked that only they seem to make and was wondering about quality.
